How To Re-Pack Grease Trailer Wheel Bearings
Question:
How do I get the axle bearings greased
asked by: Shipley
Expert Reply:
When greasing or re-packing the bearings with grease, you need to fill every space of the bearing with grease. This can be done either by hand, by using a bearing packer # L70025, or if you plan on servicing multiple trailers, or just want to cut down on the time it takes, you can pump grease # L11390 into a bearing packer, like # ALL647646 using a standard grease gun # PTW54290.
If you are going to do it by hand, start with a gob of grease # L11380 in your palm and then press the bearing into the grease with some force. Do this one section at a time and overlap the sections. Start on the front and then move to the back side of the bearing.
I've attached a video as well as a help article for you that outlines the entire start to finish step by step process to re-pack your trailer wheel bearings.
