How to Stop Rola Roof Rack From Whistling When Driving

Question:

My newly installed rola roof racks make a very loud whistling sound. I’m sure they’re not meant to make such noise, so wondering what to do to reduce the sound. I’ve installed them as per instruction, and tried to troubleshoot but still noisy. Any suggestions? Product- rola 59849

Roof racks sometimes make odd noises depending on how the wind catches them on the highway. What I would recommend you do is make sure you have the rubber channel in the top of the bars as without that you'll hear a lot of noises. If that's in place the next thing to do is install a fairing in front of the front crossbar to direct air over it. For that you'll want the Yakima Fairing part # Y05018 which will easily install to the front crossbar and will do a great job eliminating the whistle you are hearing!
