Availability of Narrower Tires for Snowmobile Trailer for Better Handling

Question:

I use to have snowmobile trailers that had skinny tires on them and pulled thru the snow great. NOW days I see fat tires on the trailers. Fat tired trailers are ALL over the road in snow and slush. The trailer I just bought needs tires and it has 205 - 65 - 10 tires 5 lug holes. . Where can I get the narrow tires and what size do I need. I hate the wide ones. Do they even make the narrow tires anymore?? Please help.

Helpful Expert Reply:

I'd recommend going with a 12 inch wheel with a ST145/R12 tire on it, like the # AM35354. The ST145/R12 has a diameter only 1 inch larger than your existing tires, so it'll only raise your trailer height by 1/2 an inch. I've linked you to our selection in that tire size/wheel configuration. You'll want to choose a wheel with the desired finish with the properly rated tires. You'll want tires you choose to have a combined capacity that exceeds the weight of the trailer and its contents.
