Thule Roof Cargo Boxes That Fit a 2014 Subaru Forester with OEM Roof Rack
Question:
Can you let me know what specific Thule cargo carriers work with the 2014 Subaru Forester with a factory roof rack? Also, how easy are Thule racks to install compared to other roof racks? Is there another comparative brand to Thule recommended for the Subaru Forester? Thank you!

All of the Thule roof cargo boxes that we carry will essentially fit your 2014 Subaru Forester with the OEM roof rack. If you check out the attached installation video of the Thule Pulse Alpine # TH613 you can see that it still clears the rear hatch on a 2015 Forester, which has the same dimensions as your 2014 Forester. Since this cargo box requires the most clearance it means that anything smaller will fit. I confirmed this with Thule as well.
I recommend going with the Force XT that has the Black AeroSkin finish because the finish looks a lot like the matte black that looks similar to vehicle trim, plus it has a great aerodynamic design that is also aesthetically pleasing. This cargo box comes in 4 different sizes:
11 cu ft - # TH6356B
18 cu ft - # TH6358B
22 cu ft - # TH6359B
If you are looking to replace your OEM roof rack and you like the Thule style then I recommend going with their 47" WingBar Evo Crossbars, Black # TH711220 or Silver # TH711200, with the Evo Raised Feet # TH710401 because you are getting that great Thule quality that is easy to install.
The other brand that competes with Thule is Yakima with the 50" JetStream Crossbars, Black # Y00425, and the TimberLine Towers # Y33TR. While they do produce high-quality products, they have adjustments in their towers (or feet) which make the installs a little more involved. I personally like the adjustments because they mean that the roof rack is more fine-tuned to the vehicle, but since you are looking for an easy install the Thule roof rack is the way to go.
I have attached some sample install videos of these roof rack styles on different year Foresters that you can check out to compare the installation process for yourself.
