How To Determine If 5th Wheel Trailer Needs To Be Lifted While Towing With Lifted Truck
Question:
Hi I have a 2005 GMC 4x4 Desial with a 6” lift I just bought a 2008 Keystone Fuzion 362 I was thinking about dropping my truck to a 4” will my truck be able to pull this 5th wheel? Or should I put a 3” lift on the toy hauler?

In order to determine if you will be able to tow level as is you will need to first level the trailer and then measure from the ground to the bottom of the skid plate on the pin box. Once this is done, you can then measure from the ground to the bed floor on the tow vehicle and add the height of the fifth wheel hitch which most can usually be adjusted anywhere from 14" - 17". If the truck sits higher than the trailer even once you have dropped it back down from the original lift then you will indeed need to install a lift kit on the trailer. That said, I would not be able to confirm any of the above so you will need to measure this for yourself.
If you can provide the axle specification on your trailer I can then see if a lift kit is available. I have attached a help article that further explains these measurements as well.
