Weight Distribution Recommendation for a 2013 Somerset Pop-up Camper and 2009 Toyota Highlander

Question:

What weight distribution kit do I need for my 2013 Somerset popup think Coleman Evolution popup that has a hitch weight of 326 lbs. and 3500 lb GVW. The popup is made by Aliner using plans bought from the former Coleman Company in Somerset, PA. The popup has a wind up/down front leveler that is stationary. I have space between my battery tray and gas bottles for a cross bar. What number hitch do you recommend? Tow vehicle is a 2009 Toyota Highlander Hybrid. Thanks.

When you calculate tongue weight you also have to add in the weight of anything loaded behind the rear axle of the 2009 Toyota Highlander. It is likely that when ready to tow, the tongue weight will be a little higher. based on that, I recommend a Equal-i-zer System, # # EQ37100ET.
