Expert Reply:
The towing capacity of a 2017 Kia Sedona (All Models) is 1,000 lbs for trailers without brakes or 3,500 lbs for trailers with brakes. The Starcraft Satellite16KS does have electric drum brakes so you will be good to go but just be careful how much cargo you bring with. I have attached some parts you will need that I recommend.
Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C13115 (See Photo)
Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness part # C56332
7-Way RV Upgrade Kit for Trailer Brake Controller Installation part # ETBC7L
Curt Echo Mobile Trailer Brake Controller part # C51180
Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System w/ 4-Point Sway Control - 6,000 lbs GTW, 600 lbs TW part # EQ37060ET
I recommend the 7-Way RV Upgrade Kit for Trailer Brake Controller Installation with the Curt Echo Mobile Trailer Brake Controller because this option does not require any splicing and all you will need to do is plug the two 4-ways into one another, ground the white wire, and then run the black wire up to the vehicle's battery. The Curt Echo uses your phone so the learning curve is not nearly as high as other options.
I have attached some install videos for you below.
