I found Jeep's catalog that details all of the options that their Jeep Cherokees came with based on trim level and it looks like your Latitude Plus does come with the tow package, or as they call it the "trailer tow group". It looks like only the Latitude and Trailhawk didn't come with the package and the Limited, and Overland did come with it! This means you have a trailer towing capacity of 4,500 lbs, a trailer hitch installed (like you noticed), have an engine oil cooler, 7-way and 4-way trailer wiring, and a heavier duty alternator.

You pretty much have everything covered except a brake controller which would control the brakes of a trailer (if equipped) to give you a safer and smoother stop. The easiest solution for that is the Curt Echo Mobile part # C51180 which basically just plugs into your 7-way and once synced to your smart phone is ready to go! This controller senses how hard you are applying the vehicle brakes and applies a proportional amount of braking to the trailer brakes. Big advantage to this specific controller is that it requires no wiring or interior modification to mount. See attached review video. The trailer you plan to tow may not have brakes though so this might not be needed, but if the trailer does have brakes installed then this is a very smart choice.
