Can I Install My MaxxAir Roof Vent On The Wall Instead of Roof
Question:
Oddball question. I know this is designed to be mounted on a roof of an RV. Id like to mount one of these on the wall of a shipping container cabin. Is there any reason mounting it vertically would be a problem? It would be under the overhang of a roof, so water resistance shouldnt be an issue. Thanks!

The MaxxAir MaxxFan Mini Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan - Manual Lift part # MA00-04401M can be installed vertically on a wall as long as it is not exposed to much water (like you mention) and the wall has to be at least 1" thick. Installing it this way makes it easier for water to leak in but as long as you use sealant you shouldn't have an issue. You will also not get the type of air flow that the vent being on the roof would provide. I recommend installing a couple of wall vents like part # HMAV2-AVT2 to ensure enough air circulation.
I recommend Roof Vent Installation Kit with Sealant, Butyl Tape and Screws part # 344270KITW to install the vent.
