How Much Can a 2014 Toyota Tacoma Tow with the Bumper
Question:
Can I tow a Jon boat with trailer from my 2014 Toyota Tacoma bumper hitch

The towing capacity of the bumper on your 2014 Toyota Tacoma assuming you have the cutout will vary from 3,300 - 3,500 lbs depending on options. I advise you to take a look starting at page 228 of your owner's manual to see these options. Therefore, so long as your jon boat does not exceed the above then you will be good to go. If you need a hitch ball, I recommend the Hitch Ball part # C40017 for 1-7/8" or part # C40020 for 2" so long as you have a 1" diameter ball hole.
If your jon boat does exceed the above then you will want to install a trailer hitch. Also, it can be hard to tow level using a bumper so if you need to travel long distances to get your boat in the water then I would recommend installing a trailer hitch anyway. For this, the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 75236 is what I would use as it's a custom fit so no drilling is required and it will allow you to tow a much heavier trailer while level, up to 5,500 lbs if the vehicle is equipped to do so.
If you don't already have a trailer wiring harness then you will need one of these as well for which I recommend the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness part # 118496 because again it is a custom fit which this time means no splicing. For a ball mount/hitch ball, the Curt Channel Style Adjustable Ball Mount part # C45900 will have you covered.
I have attached install videos and a photo for you as well.
