I checked with my contact at Ventline and for your PR-8 100-CFM range hood the correct replacement motor is the part # BVD0278-00. Then for the fan blade you will need part # BCD0409-00.

I'm not sure if it's what you're looking for, but the closest option to this that we have available is the Wiring Cover # CA0461-02, which will fit your PR-8 Range Hood model. We don't have the whole outer frame/box available by itself.

I was in search of the same part and I think it is called the Blower housing. In a document you have on the PR-8 regarding replacement filters there is a diagram with Blower housing labeled but there is not a part # listed. It says you must contact the factory. Am I reading that correctly? Is it possible to get the blower housing? Is there a recommended vent hood that replaces the Ventline PR-8 if the blower housing is not available?

@KimS If the document mentions reaching out to Ventline for a replacement blower then I'd try going that route. The are pretty good about having replacement parts for their vents.

I installed the motor and fan into the hood, but it blows not suck. Since the is only a high speed and low speed wire and the motor spins CCW, I will need another fan blade. Do you have any info on a fan blade?

@WilliamN I contacted the manufacturer and they suggest that the fan blades are backwards on the motor shaft. Switch that around and let me know how it works.

@LesD @WilliamN Not intuitive, but it's a quirk of physics that turning a fan blade or boat propeller upside down still causes air or water to flow in the same direction. Most likely, the shaded-pole fan stator (has the wire coil) had the rotor and bearings assembled upside down at the factory (probably in China). This is by design if the specified motor needs to rotate the other direction.

@Jim Hey Jim, there are actually 3 wires total on the Motor # BVD0278-00, since it's designed for a 2-speed fan. The white wire will indeed be for ground, while the blue and red wires will be for power.
