The protocol for using a tow dolly like the Roadmaster Tow Dolly with Self-Steering Wheels and Electric Brakes part # RM-2050-1 will be laid out in your owner's manual. For example, if you have a 2016 Chevrolet Cruze then the process is as follows:
1) Put the front wheels on a dolly.
2) Shift an automatic transmission into park or a manual transmission into first gear.
3) Set the parking brake.
4) Clamp the steering wheel in a straight ahead position with a clamping device designed for towing.
5) Turn the ignition off.
6) Secure the vehicle to the dolly.
7) Release the parking brake.
There is not a standard procedure for all front wheel drive vehicles so if you can let me know the year, make, and model of your vehicle then I would be happy to look up the dolly towing procedures in your owner's manual for you.
