Troubleshooting 7-Way Mercedes Vito LED Problems

Question:

Hi I have a Mercedes Vito. When I test the 7 pin connector with a multi-meter it shows constant 12Volts. Not sure if this is what it should show, as my Subaru shows what it should i.e. 12Volts on signal activating e.g. Turning Blinker on. If this is what is expected for no load, then why is it when i connect the trailer with LED lights nothing shows? Should it just not be 12v across all phases? Is it a problem with the auto electrics or do I need a load or some sort of connector on them?

German vehicles notoriously do not like towing trailers with LED taillights. What you described sounds like a case of this where the vehicle is looking for more amperage draw and the LEDs just don't have it.

For a 7-way adapter designed for German vehicles towing LED lighted trailer to prevent the bulb out issue we have the part # C57003. This will plug right into the 7-way you have.
