Speed Rating and Operational Use of Snow Tire Chains
Question:
Hello, can you please tell me what the recommended max speed rating is for this tire chain? I would be using them on a 2018 Honda Accord. Also is it ok to drive on them as roads are plowed and there is minimal snow or do they need to be removed as soon as the road surface starts to show? I have a 50 mile commute, and wondering if having to drive a distance like that in a bad storm, if these chains will hold up for a long time.

The Pewag Servo RS Self-Tensioning Tire Chains - 1 Pair # PWRS77 are great quality chains that are not difficult to install. They are made of titanium allow steel which makes them very strong and corrosion resistant.
The speed rating for this set of chains is 25-30 mph. This is not just for these chains but is the industry standard. Tire chains are not for use on any roads where the pavement is bare. Using them above that speed or on bare pavement can cause loss of traction and even damage to your vehicle. The chains are very durable so they will hold up for a long time when used in this capacity. There is not a mile limit per use.
I've attached a video and an article to assist.
