Question:
can you give me the hitch and towing capacity for a 2018 equinox?

If your 2018 Chevy Equinox is not a diesel, then I recommend the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # 76419 because it is the least visible, able to work well with accessories like a bike rack and is easy to install.
If you have the diesel model, then I instead recommend the Draw-Tite # 76217.
The towing capacity is dependent on your engine. If you have the 1.5L turbo or the 1.6L turbo diesel, then you will have a towing capacity of 1,500 lbs. If you have the 2.0L turbo then you will have a towing capacity of 3,500 lbs.
For your trailer wiring harness, I recommend the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118750 which will connect to your factory harness behind each tail light.
Finally, I recommend the etrailer.com ball mount kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts; one with a 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop and one with a 2-3/4 inch rise or 4 inch drop. It also includes a 1-7/8 inch ball, 2 inch ball, hitch pin with clip, and a storage bag. It is a great option for most trailer applications. I've attached an article to help you determine best fit with your trailer, and have also attached videos of these products to assist.
