Can Trunk Mount Bike Rack be Used to Secure Electra Townie to 2019 Honda Accord

Hi - wanting a trunk rack for my 2019 Honda Accord to use with my electra townie. Will a trunk rack work with that frame or what can I do? I really really don't want to do a hitch.

You can indeed use a trunk-mounted rack on your 2019 Honda Accord to secure your Electra Townie as long as the bike's weight falls below the capacity of the carrier.

For your Honda Accord I recommend the Yakima FullBack 2 Bike Rack # Y02634. I really like this particular rack because it features anti-sway cradles with ratcheting straps that will hold the bikes at 3 different points and 4 cam-buckle straps with hooks for a secure attachment to the vehicle. Locks are also included to secure the bikes to the rack and the rack to the Accord. It can handle 2 bikes of up to 35 pounds each.

Then as far as making the drop-down frame on your Electra Townie work with a hanging-style rack like this one you just need to add an adapter bar like the Kuat # UB01. This will connect to the bike's seat post and handlebar stem post to provide a horizontal attachment point for the carrier. Just looking at pictures of the Electra Townies it looks like you will need to raise the seat as high as it will go so you can make the bar as level as possible.
