Draw-Tite Class I Hitch Fit for 2004 VW Golf GTI VR6  

Question:

The same hitch is listed twice, one says fits vr6 models, the other says it will not fit. When you go to the link for the hitch, both say vr6 models excluded. Can I have some clarity on this? Thanks

Draw-Tite Class I hitch # 24679 is a confirmed fit for the 2004 VW Golf, including the VR6 version of this vehicle. I verified this with Draw-Tite.

In our Fit Guide we show the hitch twice since on some makes and models of cars a hitch may fit one but not the other. In the case of your VW Golf the hitch # 24679 fits BOTH the VR6 and non-VR6 versions.

If you also need a 4-pole trailer wiring harness the item to use is # 119178KIT. For a ball mount for towing a small trailer the part you want to use is # 3594, and this can be used with either 1-7/8-inch hitch ball # 19256 or 2-inch ball # 19258.
