Recommended 2-Inch Class III Hitch for 2016 Ford Escape
Question:
Hello good folks........my neighbor spoke very highly of you, so Im reaching out with a question. Id like to install a class 3 hitch on my 2016 Escape. Do you carry those? and is the installation similar to the class 2 hitch that I saw on YouTube? Thanks.

Welcome to etrailer! And yes, we can help you with a Class III hitch for your 2016 Ford Escape. Please say thanks to your nice neighbor for sending you our way.
Any custom-fit hitch like the ones we offer will use specific existing mounting points on the vehicle's frame. It makes no difference if the hitch is a 1-1/4-inch Class II or a 2-inch Class III. The same points on the frame will be used for installation and apart from some minor details the installations will be virtually identical. The larger 2-inch Class III hitch is definitely the way to go.
Out of all options we have I suggest the Draw-Tite # 75758 for its easier installation and high weight ratings of 675-lbs tongue weight and 4500-lbs towing weight. Your Escape may not match these exact ratings so always check your manual and go by the lower rating if they differ. If you have rear lift gate sensors they will still work.
We did an install on a 2016 Escape and that installation is shown in the linked video. A helpful article is linked too. Hope to see you here again soon!
