Weight Distribution Recommendation for Trailer Towing 2 Side by Sides Polaris RZR

Question:

I have a 8.5’x28’ enclosed trailer. Trailer weight is 4400lbs and the 2 Polaris RZR’s to be hauled are approx 3500lbs between the two so rounding up for additional gear totaling 8000lbs will the 10,000lb equalizer be adequate? Pulling with a 2015 single rear wheel Chevrolet 3500hd diesel 4x4

The best way to pick out a weight distribution system is to base it off of the loaded tongue weight of the setup when it is loaded and ready to tow. This figure also includes the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. I attached a help article on determining tongue weight for you to check out as well. You will want the loaded tongue weight of your setup to fall right in the middle of the tongue weight range of the system you use.

So for a trailer that weighs 8,000 lb when loaded you'd be looking at a tongue weight of between 800 and 1,200 lbs most likely. So for a weight distribution rated for that the Reese Strait Line part # RP66084 would be a fantastic option. It has a tongue weight range of 600-1,200 lbs and features only sway control that works to fight sway before it starts.

For a 2 inch ball you would want part # A-90 and for a 2-5/16 inch ball # 19286.
