How to Carry A Motorcycle on the Front of a 2010-2018 Dodge Ram 2500
Question:
I see the specs for this hitch indicate a 500lbs vertical load limit. Is there any reason why I could not use a hitch mount motorcycle carrier to carry a 200lb motorcycle with this hitch? Obviously there are placement considerations, but as far as weight rating is concerned am i clear? thanks

As long as the motorcycle and carrier do not exceed the vertical load rating of the Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C31015 which is 500 lbs then you will be able use this hitch. Please keep in mind that you will also want to check in your owner's manual for the vehicle's vertical load rating as the lower of the two will be your limiting factor. You can get a feel for how this hitch installs using the video I have attached for you.
For a lightweight motorcycle carrier, I recommend using the Ultra-Fab Dirt Bike Carrier for 2" Hitches - With Ramp part # UF48-979033 which weighs about 50 lbs.
The distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the outermost edge of the bumper while using the Curt hitch is 9-1/2" and the distance from center of hitch pin hole to closest edge of Ultra-Fab carrier is 15-1/2" therefore will work with one another and still have room to spare.
