You will need to abide by the lower of the two ratings as this will be your limiting factor. I have attached an install video of this hitch on a similar 2004 Honda CR-V for you.

To determine the maximum trailer weight you can tow with your CR-V, you will need to find both the Gross Combined Weight Rating (GCWR) and the Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW).
