Recommended Carrier for a 2010 Toyota RAV4 Carrying a Lifetime Kodiak Canoe

I was looking to put a Lifetime Kodiak canoe on top of our 2010 Toyota Rav4 with a factory roof rack and crossbars. The canoe weighs about 96 lbs. and is 39 inches wide and 13 feet long The gunwale is wide on these canoes. What type of set-up would you recommend to make this possible?

The best option that we have for you to carry your Lifetime Kodiak Canoe on your 2010 Toyota RAV4 is the Thule Portage Canoe Carrier w/ Tie-Downs - Gunwale Brackets # TH819. This is a side-loading option to you might need to get a little help lifting the canoe up, but once it is installed properly it is one of the better canoe carriers that we have to offer!
The kit includes everything that you will need to secure your canoe and since it has a 150-lb capacity it will have no problem carrying the 96 lbs of weight from your canoe. It mounts on aero, factory, square, round, and elliptical crossbars that have a spread range of 24" - 36" and if your crossbars have a top channel you can use part # THXADAPT12 as an adapter.
