Would Bulldog Winch BDW15019 Mount to Trailer Floor and Work Well to Load 2,500 lb Car
Question:
I have an enclosed trailer 24 for my race car 2500lbs. I am looking for a winch to mount inside of the trailer with the capacity to pull the car on to the trailer. This unit appears to be sufficient but I want to make sure. Also what is the reliability of the unit? I am happy to pay more for a more reliable unit. Please recommend one. The material says the the unit can be mounted to the floor of the trailer or to the frame. Can it really be mounted and operated safely from the floor? If yes how should this be accomplished? Is there a metal bracket/mounting plate that can be purchased to allow for frame mounting?

The Bulldog Winch part # BDW15019 would easily pull a 2,500 lb race car into an enclosed trailer. It has a 4,400 lb capacity which would make easy work of that weight. Bulldog winches are very reliable too.
What a lot of people do to mount a winch to the floor of a trailer is use a hitch mount like the part # C31010 and then fabricate a hitch opening to the floor of the trailer like the # E-11.
The hitch mount route allows the winch to easily be removed from the trailer if needed as well.
