1991 Coleman pop up camper tire information

Question:

I have a 1991 Coleman SunValley camper with 20.5x8.0-10 tires. The trailer weight is 1285 lbs. I would like to know the tire pressue and what speed these are rated at. I have people telling me tires pressure any where from 35lbs to 90lbs. Reading some of your advice it seems i should run the pressure at 90 psi cold. While driving the tires will heat up will that be a problem? Also would like to know max load for the tires. What does the 10pr mean? Here what stamped on the tire, leaving out the metric units. 95j loadrange e 10 pr max load 1520lbscold Max pressure 90psicold Thanks for your help

The wording on the tire means your tires are 10-ply tires (Load Range E) that have a maximum capacity of 1,520 pounds at 90 psi. Always go by the ratings that are stamped on the tires.

Trailer tires should always be inflated to their maximum psi (90 psi in your case) with the tires cold. They're designed to heat up while driving but they will heat up more than designed if they are not inflated to the maximum psi.

If you're looking at replacing the tires the new tire size is 205/65-10. We carry # AM1HP56 which is a Load Range E tire rated for 1,650 pounds at 90 psi.
