Recommended Maintenance Schedule for the Curt Q20 Slider Hitch
Question:
Hi, I recently purchased the Curt Q20 slider hitch from you. Does this hitch come greased and ready to go or what is the maintenance on these out of the box? how often should I be greasing? Thanks much.

I spoke to my contact and you will need to lubricate before each individual use and every 1,000 miles thereafter; this will include greasing this the first time out of the box.
The Curt Q20 5th wheel hitches # C16536 have grease fittings on them on the underside of the head, left and right side and a grease fitting down between the jaws. I included a picture showing the locations for you. to access the one between the jaws you will need to have the jaws closed.
Black graphite grease is recommended for the jaw pins and the lower bearing assembly jaw. In severe cold temperatures a lighter grease, such as white lithium, may be substituted for the jaw pins and the lower bearing assembly jaw.
If you have the jaws open you can see a post that connects the jaw to a lower portion of the hitch head. See the other picture I have included. This little pocket also requires grease (it is called the spiral cam pocket).
I have linked the above mentioned product to this page for your convenience.
