Can 18.5x8.5-8 Trailer Tires be Replaced with 4.80/4.00-8 Tires on a Snowmobile Trailer

Question:

Hello, I currently have 18.5-8.5-8 tires and wheels on my snowmobile trailer but I want better gas mileage and better value replacement. is the AM30060 /4.80/4.0-8 a good fit? It is slightly smaller than the original but I dont see this being a problem. I have a 5 x 4 1/2inch bolt circle wheel. Is there a better option? Thank You

Kenda tire and wheel combo # AM30060 is a great option as long as the weight capacity is enough for the gross trailer weight. One of these tire and wheel combos is rated for 745 pounds at 90 psi. So for 2 of them on a single axle that would be a total capacity of 1,490 pounds. The center pilot hole is 2.8 inches in diameter and it has a 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern. If that is enough for the trailer then you will be good to go.
