Tire Chain Recommendation for a 225/55R17 and 225/65R17
Question:
I have two Subarus in the family. Their respective wheel sizes are 225/55 R17 and 225/65 R17. Is there a tite cable set that will fit BOTH tires sizes safely? I dont anticipate EVER using them, but want to have a set in the boot just in case of a serious emergency. And because I probably will never use them, I of course dont want to buy a set for each car and thus save a bit of money.

There is not one set which will fit both tire sizes.
For the 225/55-17 the Titan Chain # TC1138 snow chains in a ladder pattern are an economical choice. We advise using # PW105 rubber tensioners to keep them centered and tight.
For the 225/65-17 the Titan Chain # TC1142 are the same chain in the next size. Use the same rubber tensioners.
You will need to check the owners manual for both vehicles to determine if there are any tire chain restrictions. These are S rated which means they are designed for vehicles with limited wheel well clearance.
