Best Weight Distribution System to Use w a 2012 Toyota Tundra Towing Passport Elite Travel Trailer
Question:
What would be your suggestion as the bestinch weight distribution and anti-sway hitch for a 2012 Toyota Tundra with factory tow pkg to pull a Passport Elite RB23 Travel Trailer 500# TW, empty GW- 4800#, max total weight-7000#? I intend to mount the hitch myself so ease of installation is a factor.

The best weight distribution/sway control system we offer that I recommend the most is the Strait-Line systems like the part # RP66074 that you referenced. If your loaded tongue weight happens to fall in the range of this system (600 lbs - 1,200 lbs), then this would be a great system to use. Based on the weights of your trailer that you listed this would MOST likely be the correct system to use.
The best way to pick out a weight distribution system is to base it off of the loaded tongue weight of the setup when it is loaded and ready to tow. This figure also includes the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. I attached a help article on determining tongue weight for you to check out as well. You will want the loaded tongue weight of your setup to fall right in the middle of the tongue weight range of the system you use.
For a 2 inch ball you would want part # A-90 and for a 2-5/16 inch ball # 19286.
