Helpful Expert Reply:
If installed and used properly a programmer should not damage a vehicle's motor or transmission. Abuse of the new power, using the wrong fuel type for the tune (on gas motors) or use on a truck that is not running well could result in damage.
To help with gas mileage use the Mileage XS Save tune option.
