MAP Sensor Wiring Harness and Fuel Injection Pump Location on 2000 Dodge Ram 3500 Diesel

2000 dodge 3500 cant figure out where the gray wire with the red connect end goes and the black wire with the round end

If you are using Edge programmer # EP30301 that could be the problem. It is not a fit for a 2000 Dodge Ram 3500. It only fits 2001 to 2002 Rams with the 5.9 liter I6 diesel motor. The one for a 2000 Ram with the 5.9 diesel is # EP30300.
On # EP30300 the gray wire with the red connector on it will connect to the fuel injection pump. The round, black connectors go to the map sensor.
For the map connection you will need to look for the stock wiring harness at the boost sensor. According to the instructions it should located behind the fuel filter housing on top of the motor. I included a picture showing it on a 2001.
the gray wire with red connector requires a little more work to connect. Locate the fuel injection pump. There should be a bracket assembly on top of it that has to be removed. Then you should be able to access the air intake. You will need to remove the bolts holding on the intake and the one that holds the oil dipstick tube.
Then you should be able to move or rotate the intake which should reveal the fuel injector pump's wiring. The harness should plug into the back of the pump near the top. If you move the insulation away you should see a couple of wires. I have included another picture that shows this.
After that it is just a matter of following the steps in the instructions that came with the programmer. Happy hunting!
